Day 1282: Beyond The Law

Beyond The LawI’ve been reading quite a lot about Apes who are being taken to court by the RIAA or similar organizations over music file sharing. These files are being distributed all over the Internet via P2P networks like Bittorrent and the like.

In all honesty, most of this crap isn’t worth paying for in the first place. Are we to be judged for sampling something before buying? If I wasn’t a Cat and I had money, I would be more than happy to pay for some of this stuff if I enjoyed it enough.

But no. We are expected to buy something just because some radio station that was paid to promote the product says it good enough to blow our hard earned dollars on. Litter Lumps! That’s the equivalent of on-air spamming.

If we take it upon ourselves to sample a product before we buy, are we immediately to be considered a criminal; deserving hard time in prison? [Insert more Litter Lumps here!]

At this point all I have to say is this: Sucks to be an Ape!

In all my reading, I haven’t come across any cases involving Cats. Sure, the Big Hairless Ape may have to play “Don’t drop the soap” with his prison buddies, but I will remain blame free. After all, it’s his ISP account I’m using. When the hammer falls, I’ll be sleeping on the couch; purring to cover up my laughter.

So, open the ports and let the good times roll! I have 150GB of free space sitting here just itching to be filled.

If I could only figure out how to grasp a CD with my paws, I’d burn it all to CD and download that free space all over again. Screw ‘em!
